Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Quottd, a quoting and payment tool for service businesses, operated by Quottd ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using quottd.com, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. What Quottd does
Quottd lets service operators ("Operators") build a service catalog, generate quote links, collect deposits and payments from their customers, and hand off scheduling. Quottd is a software tool — we are not a party to the agreement between an Operator and their customer, and we do not perform, guarantee, or supervise any services quoted through the platform.
2. Accounts
- You sign in with an email-based magic link. You're responsible for maintaining control of your email account and for all activity under your Quottd account.
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract to open an account.
- Provide accurate business information. Quotes are sent under your business name — impersonating another business is prohibited.
3. Payments
- All payments are processed by Stripe. To receive payouts, Operators must complete Stripe Connect onboarding and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
- Quottd never holds your funds. Customer payments flow through Stripe to the Operator's bank account.
- Card payments incur Stripe's processing fee plus a Quottd platform fee, both as shown on our pricing page at the time of the transaction. Platform fees are deducted automatically at payment time.
- Paid subscription plans (e.g., Pro) bill in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable.
4. Operator responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your quotes, the quality and legality of your services, applicable licenses and insurance, and collecting and remitting any taxes you owe.
- Refunds to your customers are between you and them. Quottd provides refund tooling, but the decision and responsibility are yours. Chargebacks and payment disputes on your transactions are your responsibility under Stripe's rules.
- You must have the right to use any customer contact information you enter into Quottd, and use it lawfully.
5. If you received a quote from an Operator
Quote pages are published by independent businesses using Quottd. Your payment is made to that business, not to Quottd. Questions about the work, scheduling, or refunds should go to the business shown on the quote page. Payment receipts are issued via Stripe.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Quottd to: send spam or unsolicited messages; quote or sell anything illegal or prohibited by Stripe's Restricted Businesses list; mislead customers, including with fabricated reviews or false pricing; interfere with the service or attempt to access other users' data.
7. Your content and data
- Your catalog, quotes, branding, and customer records remain yours. You grant us the limited license needed to host and display them to operate the service.
- You can export your catalog and data at any time. If you close your account, we'll delete your data within a reasonable period, subject to legal and financial record-keeping requirements.
8. Availability and changes
Quottd is under active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and while we work hard to keep the service up, we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We'll give reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid plans.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. QUOTTD DOES NOT WARRANT THAT QUOTES WILL CONVERT, THAT PAYMENTS WILL CLEAR, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUOTTD WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR REVENUE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID TO QUOTTD IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create legal or payment risk, or abuse the service. On termination we'll make your data available for export for 30 days unless the law requires otherwise.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. For material changes we'll notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.
